Immigration Proceedings

En Español

At Inara Counseling and Consulting, we provide professional mental health evaluations to support individuals and families navigating the immigration process. These evaluations are tailored to meet the specific requirements of immigration proceedings and are written with care, compassion, and cultural sensitivity.

Below are some of the common types of immigration cases we support:

Extreme Hardship Waiver

If you or a loved one is facing separation due to immigration issues, you may qualify for a hardship waiver. This type of evaluation is used to show how a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident would suffer extreme emotional, psychological, medical, or financial hardship if their family member were deported or denied entry.
We help by assessing and documenting how the separation would impact your well-being and daily functioning, and provide a detailed report to support your immigration application.

Spousal Abuse (VAWA)

If you are married to a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident and have experienced abuse, you may be eligible to apply for lawful status on your own under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA)—and this includes men as well.
Our evaluation provides a safe space to share your story and helps document the emotional and psychological effects of the abuse you have endured. This report can be an important part of your petition for protection and independence.

Political Asylum

If you are fleeing your home country due to persecution or fear of harm based on your race, religion, political opinion, gender, or other identity, you may be eligible for asylum in the U.S.
A psychological evaluation can support your case by providing a professional assessment of how the trauma, fear, and/or mistreatment you’ve experienced has affected your mental health. We are here to listen and help you share your story in a way that can support your claim.

U-Visa

If you have been the victim of a serious crime in the U.S. and have cooperated with law enforcement, you may be eligible for a U-Visa, which can offer protection and a path to legal status.
A mental health evaluation helps document how the crime has impacted your emotional and psychological well-being. This assessment can strengthen your application by showing the long-term effects of the trauma you’ve experienced.

All evaluations are conducted by licensed mental health professionals and meet the standards required by immigration courts and attorneys. We work collaboratively with you and your legal representative to ensure your voice is heard.
